Starting school, again

Diving into transportation

This update is long overdue - and it might actually be helpful to provide some context for those who’ll stumble across this over the next few years.

What’s happened since late 2023:

• Did dev work at SideFX for almost 2 years (great time)
• Made quite a few YouTube videos about transportation that made me want to pursue something in this industry
• Applied to grad school

That final bullet point worked out, and I’m so excited to be starting my Master’s in Science, Tech, and Policy at ETH Zurich in a month, focusing on transportation and urban planning.

Not 100% sure on what my research areas will end up being, but I definitely have some ideas floating around…

• Examining specific policy choices that have encouraged the approval, design, and funding of major transportation projects across Switzerland and Europe
• Further quantifying the relationship between political polarisation and such projects
• Maybe even diving into the policies that birthed open access rail, cause wouldn’t that be fun in North America 👀
